Synopsis
I signed a pact with the devil. Now what?

For my defense, I had no idea what I was getting into when I met her.
Tall, gorgeous, and funny, she wasn't only wild in bed, but had sinful red lips I still can’t get enough of.
One problem, though. She comes with a warning:
stay away or you’ll get burned.
And she wears the color of the devil perfectly. First hint she was about to ruin me. Yeah, it should have figured it out straight from the beginning.

The truth is that I didn't. The new, more reckless version of me, loves the danger she promises. And the way she spices up my existence.

When I'm forced with a choice—keep going or put an end to our crazy relationship—I must decide if she's worth the risk.

Will playing with fire become my new addiction, or should I just run for my life?

This is book #1 in the Carter Hills Band series and it's part of the Carter Hill Band Universe. It can be read as a standalone novel.

*Due to mature subject, this book is only suitable for people over 18 years of age.

Excerpt (False Promises)

It had been the trigger for my downward spiral.

The beginning of the end.

After my bandmates and I gave one of our best shows, everything good in my life crumbled.

Tightness grew in my chest at the mere thought of it.

My throat constricted.

The encouragement from the crowd brought me back to the present moment. At the love aimed at me, my heart swelled, jumping in all directions inside my chest cavity.

“Okay, guys. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a concert. And earlier, the idea of being back up here by myself scared me a little, to be honest. But here I am. I couldn’t have done any of this without you. You guys tonight are amazing. I think this deserves a little celebration. I’ll play two more songs for you.” I coughed to clear the thickness in my throat. “These are Carter Hills Band’s original songs I wrote a long time ago, but I’ve made them my own. So here it goes.”

I attacked the first chords of “Heart for Rent.”

The crowd sang along.

I lost touch with everything else around me.

Adrenaline coursed through me with an exhilarating intensity as I played my entire set.

Finally, I played “Forever” as an encore.

A ballad that had won me the Songwriter of the Year award a few years back.

“Thank you, Jacksonville,” I screamed, raising my arm over my head to wave at the fans who’d made my night ultra-special. Under cheers and wolf whistles, I exited the stage, as if floating, unable to stop grinning like an idiot.

I did it. I freaking did it.

Carter Hills

Carter Hills is one of my favorite book hero and his back story is sad but also hopeful. This was a hard story to read but (omg) so addictive. I love every minute.

Carter Hills is the best book boyfriend!

False Promises is in the Carter Hills Band world. Books should be read in order. This world is pretty addicting, so you will want to read all of the books!

Wow! I met Savannah Prince in Pink and Country. I thought she was nuts then, or maybe just a totally nasty person. Turns out she really is nuts! Carter Hills has had so much trauma and tragedy in his life, and Savannah knows just how to pile on more of the same. This is a very tough time in Carter’s life, and his journey to the other side has you rooting for him the entire time.

Emmanuelle Snow really knows how to tug at all of your emotions and does such a great job of bringing her characters to life! I highly recommend this book! Five stars!

This book is the reason we love the Carter Hill world
Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2023
Carter’s story from teenager to adult has all the feels and really shines light into the Carter Hills World. The emotional roller coaster of his life leaves you with a heartache. But ends with him taking life by the horns and not giving up. He endured drama that would make most men crumble. Carter shows his endurance and strength to prove himself wrong… he is deserving of love. Hang on tight, but worth the ride.

Amazing Reads

"‘False Promises’ literally broke my heart into a million pieces. Don’t get me wrong I loved the novel but Savannah (FMC) made me so angry. I know people like Savannah do exist, but it’s mind blowing to me. I didn’t like Savannah in Carter’s other book and now I hate her even more.
That being said I Ioved getting to know even more about Carter and his view on life. Author Emmanuel Snow wrote an enthralling novel that shows that not everything is exactly as it seems. The plot twists in this novel had me staring eyes wide open in disbelief. I can definitely say that this is a must read. Since I have read Carter’s other book already I wasn’t as connected to this book as I probably would have been, but I admit I’m so happy he didn’t remain blind to Savannah’s true self.
I can’t wait to see what else Emmanuel Snow comes up with!
